Terms

The shape of the agreement.

Not yet a contract. Must be drafted by counsel.

This page states plainly how the platform behaves so that counsel has an accurate starting point. It is not enforceable terms of service and should not go live in this form. A network whose members are attorneys, and which touches fee division, needs properly drafted terms.

01

We are not a law firm

AttorneyConnect does not practice law and does not provide legal advice. Using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship with us.

02

Membership is by application

We verify what we can before approving an account, and we can decline or revoke membership. Approval is not an endorsement of any member.

03

Referrals are between members

Any engagement, fee arrangement or division of fees is between the attorneys and their client. We are not a party to it and take no percentage of any legal fee.

04

Your professional obligations are yours

Division of fees between lawyers in different firms is governed rule by rule, state by state. Members are responsible for compliance with their own jurisdictions' rules of professional conduct, including client consent and advertising rules.

05

Conduct

No marketing to other members, no scraping the network, no sharing member information outside it, and no posting client identifiers or privileged detail.

06

Availability

We aim to keep the service running and backed up, but it is provided as-is. Keep your own records of anything that matters to a live matter.

AttorneyConnect is not a law firm, does not practice law and does not provide legal advice. Attorney advertising rules vary by jurisdiction; members are responsible for compliance in their own.
